Goldie Hawn Open to Acting Again, But on Her Own Terms
It’s been a considerable time since Goldie Hawn appeared in a film—about six years, in fact. However, she’s not entirely against the idea of returning to acting. The key factor? Well, it all hinges on the quality of the content.
In a recent interview, Hawn emphasized, “It’s the content that matters. You act for the sake of acting, but it has to resonate with you. I’ve read many scripts that just didn’t click for me.” She shared that she last starred in “The Christmas Chronicles 2” alongside partner Kurt Russell back in 2020. At this stage in her career, she believes she needs to feel a genuine connection to any project before diving in.
Hawn acknowledged, “I’ve had a great career, and I respect that,” indicating her desire for roles that excite her. She mentioned, “I wish I could find something that makes me say, ‘Oh my god, I really want this! This is hilarious or so intriguing.’ But, honestly? Nothing like that has come my way.” She added that if a compelling script were to present itself, she’d be very much interested.
Interestingly, her daughter, Kate Hudson, recently floated the idea of writing a film that features both Hawn and Russell. Hawn expressed her enthusiasm, saying, “We’ve thought about it a lot, and I’m all for it.”
Hawn and Russell have been together for over four decades. She has two children, Kate and Oliver, from her previous marriage, while Russell has a son from his first marriage. The couple first began dating in 1983 and later welcomed their son, Wyatt.
Reflecting on her lasting relationship, Hawn shared her gratitude for the “freedom” she experiences with Russell. This sense of liberty has contributed to the strength of their bond, which continues to flourish after all these years. She is now also preparing to launch her first children’s book, “The After School Kindness Crew: Pooch on the Loose,” set to be released soon.
She went on to explain her philosophy on happiness, stating, “My mission in life is to be happy. I aim to be a role model for my family.” Having turned 80, Hawn recognizes that as she ages, maintaining a positive outlook and valuing every moment becomes increasingly important.
Lastly, she reiterated that her relationship with Russell remains a source of joy. “I still feel free with him. It doesn’t feel like we’re trapped in anything. We fit well together, and it’s fine that we don’t always see eye to eye. We’ve shared a lot of wonderful experiences.”
