Tim Allen Critiques Congress and President in Wake of King Charles III’s Speech
Comedian Tim Allen expressed his discontent with members of Congress who were present during King Charles III’s speech this week, also taking aim at former President Trump amid the “No Kings” protests.
Following the King’s landmark address to Congress—his first ever to a joint session—Allen shared a photo of the event on X, highlighting the irony of the situation.
“It would have been amusing to witness the expression on a genuine king’s face at the No Kings parade,” he wrote, in a post that gathered 75,000 views.
Comment sections were alive with reflections on the irony of the moment. One user remarked, “The crowd chanting ‘we don’t need a king’ simultaneously applauded the actual king,” while another added, “Democrats seem to give a standing ovation to the true king. How ironic is that?”
Florida Representative Greg Steube chimed in with a thought, stating, “I was heading to hear the real King’s speech… Funny that the ‘No Kings’ crowd was nowhere around. Do you think their frustration depends on who’s speaking?”
Some joined in the mockery, posting images of President Trump and King Charles with captions like “Two Kings.”
Allen, who rose to fame through roles in shows like “Home Improvement” and his voice work in the “Toy Story” series, had previously shared on X about his 13-month endeavor of reading the Bible, expressing feelings of being “humbled” and “enlightened.”
The “No Kings” demonstrations, which saw millions participating nationwide, have been focused on holding Trump accountable for actions perceived as king-like, including his approach to immigration and the increased presence of federal officers in cities.
Interestingly, one notable attendee at King Charles’ speech was Minnesota Representative Ilhan Omar, who had recently spoken at a significant “No Kings” rally.
In response to allegations of acting like a king, Trump has continually pushed back. Just prior to the royal visit, he told CBS’s Norah O’Donnell, “I’m not a king. Who am I? If I were a king, I wouldn’t deal with you.”
