The issue with rats at Angel Stadium has been resolved, allowing the concession area, previously closed last week, to reopen just in time for the Angels’ important series against the Mets.
Officials from Orange County Public Health reported on Friday that after a thorough cleaning and disinfection process, no pest activity was observed during a re-inspection conducted on Wednesday.
“All observed gaps were sealed,” the inspectors noted, adding that they received documentation of pest control efforts from the concession manager.
Now, the area on view level 432 is safe for fans again. Nevertheless, officials plan to revisit on May 6 to ensure that pest issues remain under control, as outlined in the re-inspection report.
The Angels have a three-game series against New York starting Friday evening at Angel Stadium.
The concession area had been temporarily closed on April 22 when routine checks found “rodent droppings” in multiple spots, including beneath storage racks and near cleaning supplies.
Inspectors also identified “a hole in the ceiling larger than 1/4 inch,” which could allow rodents to enter.
In a statement shared on April 27, the Angels expressed their commitment to managing the situation promptly before the game against New York on Friday.
“After consulting with the Department of Health, we will work diligently with our concession partners to address the issue, pass inspections, and look forward to reopening in time for our next home stand,” the team said.
The game is set to kick off at 6:38 p.m. PT.
