Zayn Malik Cancels U.S. Tour Due to Health Concerns
Zayn Malik has surprised his fans with the unexpected news that he’s cancelling his entire U.S. tour.
On Friday, the singer revealed on social media that the tour was set to start on July 12 but now has been called off.
“To my fans: I truly appreciate all the support and love you’ve given me with the album release, and especially your love, prayers, and well-wishes for my health. I felt them, and they mean a lot to me. I’m recovering at home, and I’m doing fine. I’ll be better and stronger soon,” Malik posted on his Instagram Story.
He went on to say, “We’ll need to rethink our schedule in the coming months and reduce the number of shows in the KONAKOL tour. I still want to meet as many of you as I can. I can’t wait to perform these shows for you all, hoping to see you around the world soon. Big love, Z.”
This announcement follows Malik’s hospitalization last month due to unexpected health issues, which led him to cancel several television appearances during his album’s launch week.
Last month, he also made headlines for a heated confrontation with former bandmate Louis Tomlinson.
Reports emerged that Malik had gotten physical with Tomlinson while filming a Netflix documentary, which was later scrapped due to their fallout.
The incident reportedly occurred when Malik made comments about Tomlinson’s late mother, Johanna Deakin, who passed away from leukemia in 2016.
A source mentioned, “There was quite an uproar, and then Zayn commented about Louis’ mother. Louis was shocked and tried to move away when Zayn struck him in the face, causing injury.” They described the scene as shocking, especially since it happened in front of many witnesses.
Since that incident, it seems neither Malik nor Tomlinson has reached out to one another.
