Princess Charlotte’s 11th Birthday Celebrated with New Portrait and Video
On Saturday, Prince William and Duchess Kate shared a new portrait of Princess Charlotte, along with a video of her playing during a recent beach holiday, in honor of her 11th birthday.
Interestingly, this post follows King Charles’s successful four-day state visit to the U.S., where he met with President Donald Trump, highlighting the royal family’s ongoing connection to the political landscape.
In the photo, Princess Charlotte is seen wearing a casual black and red long-sleeved top paired with jeans, standing among daisies in a garden in Cornwall, her hair flowing down. The image was captured by the family’s preferred photographer, Matt Porteous, who also took the photo for Prince Louis’s eighth birthday just a week prior.
“Happy 11th Birthday to Charlotte!” the couple wrote on their social media accounts.
Other updates featured Charlotte playing with her dogs, Otto and Orla, including moments of tossing a ball and drawing in the sand during their recent seaside getaway in Cornwall. “Thank you for all the lovely birthday wishes to 11-year-old Princess Charlotte today!” they captioned the video montage.
Moreover, Otto, the family’s pet, received a special birthday message himself, with a photo showcasing him enjoying the breeze and the caption, “Welcome to the family, Otto! Today is our first.”
Meanwhile, Princess Charlotte’s older brother, Prince George, who ranks second in line to the throne after their father, will celebrate his 13th birthday on July 22.
Reflecting on familial moments, a British broadcaster and photographer, Helena Chard, shared her thoughts on the significance of Charlotte’s portrait from Cornwall, suggesting that it illustrates a shared experience with the public. “It speaks to a place everyone knows,” she remarked, enjoying the relatable imagery.
After concluding his U.S. visit, King Charles headed to Bermuda, which is part of the Commonwealth, following a packed schedule that included meetings with President Trump, a state dinner at the White House, and appearances in various commemorative events.
