22-year-old Northern Kentucky University student has been missing for almost a week

A student from Kentucky has been missing for almost a week after “never showing up for class,” and worries for her safety are increasing as the days go by.

Marie “Alexis” Faust, 22, who studies at Northern Kentucky University, was last seen on April 27 and was reported missing shortly thereafter, according to Covington Police.

“Concerns have been raised for their safety, and your input might be crucial,” the police stated in their announcement.

Faust was recently captured on surveillance walking in Latonia, dressed in a dark jacket, a T-shirt, patterned pants, and sneakers, while carrying a bright yellow backpack.

As of Sunday, Faust remains missing, and friends are urging the public to assist in the search for the student who “never made it to class.”

“Marie never showed up for class and has been missing since,” noted her close friend Charlie King in a Facebook post.

“Marie’s car was discovered about a block from her apartment in Latonia, specifically on DeCourcy Avenue. Her bag was left at NKU, and police found her cell phone in her apartment,” King added.

“There is no sign of Marie anywhere. Her family, friends, and partner, who is one of my best friends, are all extremely anxious. It’s crucial that we spread the word and begin searching,” King said.

He mentioned that before her disappearance, Faust was “in good spirits” but was on medication for mental health issues.

“This kind of behavior is unusual for Marie, and it’s causing quite a panic,” Dr. King remarked. “Time is crucial, and her loved ones are very worried.”

NKU released a statement regarding the situation. As the search extends into its second week, the university confirmed its cooperation with law enforcement.

“Northern Kentucky University is aware that one of our students, Marie (Alexis) Faust, has been reported missing,” a university representative stated.

“We are genuinely concerned, and our thoughts are with her family, friends, and all affected. The Covington Police are leading the investigation, and we are fully supportive of their efforts. Anyone with information should reach out to the Covington Police Department,” they emphasized.

King described Faust as white, with shoulder-length dyed black hair, choppy bangs, and brown eyes. He stated her height is 5’7″, and she has several tattoos, which include a geometric stripe on her elbow, a sheep skull on her upper arm, and a depiction of the crucified Jesus on one of her shins.

The police are encouraging anyone with information about Faust’s whereabouts to call 911 or 859-292-2234.
