Kid Cudi Cuts Ties with M.I.A. Over Controversial Remarks
Kid Cudi has decided to remove M.I.A. from his Rebel Ragers Tour following her comments about illegal immigration during a live performance.
M.I.A. was set to open for Cudi until a contentious moment unfolded on May 2 in Dallas at the Dos Equis Pavilion. Her remarks sparked significant backlash, and she faced boos from parts of the audience after her politically charged speech.
“I’ve been canceled for many reasons. I never thought I would be canceled for being a brown Republican voter,” she stated.
In response, Cudi swiftly ended her participation in the tour, canceling all her upcoming appearances.

Video clips shared by fans captured M.I.A. addressing Cudi’s audience, saying, “I can’t do illegal, although some of you could be — in the audience,” while gesturing towards the crowd.
Her comments gained traction online, leading some fans on the far-left to voice their objections, which seemingly influenced Cudi’s decision to let her go.

Cudi elaborated on his feelings in an Instagram Story, mentioning, “I told my management to send a notice to her team before we started tour that I didn’t want anything offensive at my shows…things were understood.”
