Dolly Parton Cancels Las Vegas Residency Due to Health Concerns

Dolly Parton has announced the cancellation of her planned stay in Las Vegas, attributing it to ongoing health issues.

She shared this update with her roughly 8.4 million Instagram followers on May 4th through a video message. Back in October 2025, Parton disclosed her struggles with kidney stones, and her appearance had already been postponed to September 2026 because of other unspecified health concerns.

“Hi, I’m Dolly. I’m here to update you on some things going on in my life,” she began. “First of all, regarding my health, I have some good news and a little bit of bad news.”

Parton expressed that she’s responding well to treatment, which is encouraging. However, she mentioned, “The bad news is…some of the drugs make my head swim a little bit. So, it’s going to take time for me to get back to the stage performance level.”

Injecting her signature humor, she noted, “I don’t get dizzy carrying around banjos, guitars, etc. in 5-inch heels, and you know I’ll be wearing them!”

She joked about the added layers of her performance outfit, from rhinestones to her big hair, stating, “That would make anyone’s head swim.”

Drawing an analogy with an old car, Parton compared her current health condition to one needing extensive repairs: “When I opened the hood of this old antique, they realized I needed to rebuild the engine, the transmission was slipping, the oil pan was leaking. Spoiler alert—I can’t lose my spark!”

Amidst the laughs, she shared a bit more about her health journey, acknowledging her ongoing issue with kidney stones: “They dig more stones out of me in a year than the quarry in Rockwood, Tennessee!”

Despite the humor, she also opened up about the struggles with her immune and digestive systems over the past couple of years, emphasizing her commitment to healing and strengthening them.

Parton hinted at upcoming projects, including a museum in Nashville and a musical set to premiere on Broadway in late 2026. However, she did not address the possibility of rescheduling her Las Vegas residency.
