Right-Wing Christians Assess Compatibility of Islam with the West
A growing number of right-wing Christians hold the view that Islam can coexist with Western values. However, Blaze TV host Allie Beth Stuckey disagrees, expressing concerns over what some perceive as an Islamic encroachment in Western nations.
Shahrique Khan, a former Muslim and head of the Christian Underground Service, shares Stuckey’s apprehensions and suggests a potential solution.
Khan pointed out in a conversation with Stuckey on her show, “Relatable,” that adhering to Koranic principles would lead to living under Sharia law, which clashes with the Constitution. “Muslims are aware of this,” he stated.
When discussing potential solutions, he notes that expelling Muslims or segregating them is neither feasible nor biblical. “Christians can’t just isolate themselves while witnessing a significant increase in the Muslim population, much like in California,” he elaborated.
Khan advocates for the conversion of Muslims to Christianity as the only real solution. Reflecting on his past, he mentioned that he was once a liberal Muslim who actively voted for left-leaning candidates, predominantly opposing evangelical Christianity.
“Muslims tend to view evangelical actions as demonic,” he added, when Stuckey inquired whether this sentiment plays into their perspectives on Israel and Republican viewpoints. He emphasized that many Americanized Muslims financially support causes linked to Islam in countries like Pakistan.
“They’re funneling money to mosques and various foreign initiatives. Places like Nigeria, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, and Pakistan—it’s all connected,” Khan explained.
Stuckey expressed skepticism about the viability of Khan’s approach, noting that many fear for their safety when attempting to share the gospel in Muslim communities. “Is that fear justified?” she asked.
Khan disagreed, asserting that he frequently visits mosques in Dearborn, Michigan, confidently making connections despite being recognized by the community. He pointed out the biblical sentiment present in the second chapter of the Epistle to the Hebrews about overcoming the fear of death through faith.
“If we truly believe that Islam holds sway over billions, the implications could be severe. But remember, Christ overcame first,” he concluded.
