Scott Singer joins redefined Florida district with significant fundraising advantage

Scott Singer’s Campaign Fundraising Success and Optimism for Republicans

Scott Singer, the former Republican mayor of Boca Raton and a new candidate for Congress in Florida, is highlighting his successful fundraising efforts as a sign of hope for Republicans in the upcoming elections.

Even as a first-time candidate, Singer outperformed incumbent Jared Moskowitz in fundraising during the first quarter of the 2026 election cycle, bringing in nearly three times as much. He’s set to run in the newly delineated 25th Congressional District after Florida’s recent redistricting, although it remains uncertain where Moskowitz will contest. Singer expressed satisfaction with the backing he has received from around 3,600 donors.

“I’m thrilled that we had an outstanding fundraising quarter, leading all Republican challengers nationwide,” Singer remarked. “People seem excited about our campaign. They want change, and there’s frustration with Congress’s progress.”

As the 2026 House elections draw near, many experts deem it a challenging time for Republicans, who are aiming to keep their narrow majorities in both the House and Senate. Nevertheless, Singer sees “significant reason for optimism.” He pointed out the economy’s recent gains, though he attributed some fluctuations to global issues like the conflict in Iran.

“Our economy is the strongest it’s been in years, with GDP growth followed by a temporary dip,” he noted. “Inflation is at a low, and voters realize that unchecked inflation under President Biden contributed to our current situation.”

Singer continued, praising the efforts of former President Trump and his administration in reducing prices, stating that substantial tax cuts are now benefiting taxpayers. “We’ve seen record tax cuts and many Americans, including 12 million small businesses, are reaping the rewards, which were opposed by every Democrat.”

He believes the Republican Party has transformed into the “party of the middle” due to tax cuts impacting working families, and he expects these benefits will persist.

“People will grow more optimistic,” he said. “Looking at objective measures, things are improving, and when voters are asked about policies, they tend to favor Republican stances. If we emphasize policy over media narratives about character, it will greatly influence both our paychecks and election outcomes.”

Heading into the 2026 midterms, Republicans maintain a slim majority in the House, one of the narrowest in recent history, and many think Democrats could have an advantage given historical trends favoring them in midterm elections. This dynamic is further complicated by redistricting challenges from both parties nationwide.

On the Democratic side, there’s been significant pushback against the Republicans’ economic stance, especially regarding increases in gas prices. A spokesperson for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee criticized the Republican agenda, claiming it hurts working families while prioritizing wealthier individuals.

“Florida Republicans know they can’t win with an unpopular agenda that harms working families and boosts billionaires,” said DCCC spokesperson Neveyat Betle. “Their attempts at manipulating district maps show they’re out of touch with what constituents really experience right now.”
