Rededicate 250: A Year of National Celebration in D.C.
Washington, D.C., is gearing up for Rededicate 250, a national celebration filled with prayer, praise, and gratitude, set for May 17 on the National Mall.
As America approaches its 500th anniversary, the nation is reflecting on all that’s transpired since its founding. This day will highlight God’s guidance over the years and will include elements like testimonies, prayers, and a rededication of the country to divine providence.
The festivities will kick off with socializing near the Parliament building, accompanied by music throughout the day.
According to Freedom 250, the organization spearheading the anniversary celebrations, “Rededicate 250 is about recognizing God’s presence in our lives over the past 250 years of American history, while also seeking His guidance for the future.” A preview of the event can be found on their website.
This free event will bring together notable figures, including Rev. Franklin Graham, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, Secretary of the Army Pete Hegseth, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and former HUD Secretary Dr. Ben Carson.
Among the faith leaders participating will be Bishop Robert Barron, Cardinal Timothy Dolan, and several others from various religious backgrounds.
Christian musician Chris Tomlin, celebrated for his powerful worship songs, will headline the event.
Freedom 250 has outlined “three key themes” for the day: reflecting on divine providence, sharing personal testimonies of healing, and expressing collective gratitude for 250 years of freedom, culminating in a united rededication to seek God’s blessings for the next era.
Additionally, there will be a policy event hosted by Breitbart News featuring Ambassador Monica Crowley on May 6, aimed at discussing her role in leading the Freedom 250 celebration. Crowley, who is the ambassador’s primary media point of contact, expressed her excitement for the upcoming occasion, emphasizing the importance of celebrating America’s history, present, and future.
