Ric Flair Criticizes Luka Doncic’s Absence

Wrestling icon Ric Flair has expressed strong opinions regarding Luka Doncic’s absence during the Los Angeles Lakers’ playoff game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Lakers faced a tough loss, finishing the game 108-90.

Doncic, dealing with a hamstring injury, missed the initial round of the playoffs and has been a concern for the team. Meanwhile, Austin Reeves made a return to play for the Lakers, clocking 36 minutes on the court but only managing to score eight points.

On social media, Flair vented his frustrations, insisting that Doncic should push through his pain. He wrote, “Luke, go to the game! Take some cortisone and deal with the pain! They pay you 50 million a year and you’re not there! Oh my god! I hope @JeanieBuss trades you next year. No one wants a lame duck on their team!”

In a past interview, Flair shared his keen interest in all types of sports beyond wrestling. He has been critical of athletes taking time off for “load management,” suggesting it creates a disconnect with fans. In his perspective, basketball players who complain about their injuries detract from the sport itself.

Flair believes that professional wrestlers, who often work through severe injuries, show a different level of commitment. He referenced his own experiences, comparing them to players who miss games over what he perceives as minor injuries.

For Doncic, the situation is particularly tough as he ended up missing the last five regular season games and every playoff game due to his ongoing injury issues. Whether fans will see him back on the court soon remains uncertain.
