Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt Welcomes New Daughter
On May 1, 2026, White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt announced the arrival of her daughter, Viviana, affectionately known as “Bibi.” She described her newborn as “perfect and healthy.”
This baby girl, born on a Friday, brings Leavitt and her husband Nicholas Riccio’s family total to two children; they also have a son under two years old.
“On May 1, ‘Bibi’ joined our family, and our hearts instantly exploded with love,” Leavitt shared on social media. She added, “She is perfect and healthy and her brother is happily adjusting to life with his new baby sister. We’re enjoying every moment in our newborn bubble of happiness. Thank you to everyone who extended prayers during my pregnancy. Prayer was in my heart throughout my pregnancy. God is good.”
Previously, on July 10, 2024, the couple welcomed their son, Nicholas “Nico.” Following his birth, Leavitt returned to work for President Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign, shortly after a serious incident involving a threat against the president.
Her plans for a second child had also been delayed after an event at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
While Leavitt is on maternity leave, no interim replacement has been publicly announced, but she plans to work closely with her team. On a recent Tuesday, Secretary of State Marco Rubio stepped in to address reporters regarding the Iran conflict. There were light moments during the briefing as Rubio engaged playfully with the press, humorously referring to the event as “chaos.”
Though some things in life can feel overwhelming, the joy of a new baby clearly brings a wave of happiness amid the busyness.
