Novo Nordisk’s Ozempic and Wegovy Now Available on Amazon

Novo Nordisk has announced that its popular weight loss medications, Ozempic and Wegovy, are now available for same-day delivery on Amazon.

During a recent discussion on “Craman Countdown,” CEO Mike Douster shared that the introduction of the once-daily pill has been remarkably successful.

“It’s an exciting time for patients who can quickly access these products when they need them,” he mentioned to FOX Business.

“I think it’s great that people now have the option to receive both the Ozempic injections and the tablets.”

The Ozempic tablets were just launched last week, following the release of the oral form of Wegovy in January, which has already seen impressive initial sales exceeding $350 million.

“This has been the best product launch in the last decade, and I’m incredibly excited,” Douster remarked.

He noted that over a million patients have started using the drug within just 16 weeks of its introduction. “I’ve heard positive things from many who tried it.”

Ozempic is primarily used for patients with type 2 diabetes, while Wegovy is aimed at obesity treatment. Both were initially available only as weekly injections, but the oral forms offer a once-daily regimen.

Douster commented, “While I’d say Wegovy tablets are going to lead, the Ozempic tablets, with their well-known brand identity, will also do well.”

Novo Nordisk was early to collaborate with the Trump administration in efforts to lower prescription drug costs. Douster emphasized that making treatments affordable is vital to ensure wider access.

“We’re pleased to have reached this deal primarily because we need to ensure these innovative medicines are available to everyone, not just the wealthy,” he stated.

“Lower prices have resulted in more patients and increased volume, although this could hurt our business in the short term. Long-term, though, it’s definitely the right approach.”

Beyond weight loss, Douster pointed out the drugs’ benefits for cardiovascular, kidney, and liver health, especially their potential in healing liver scarring related to fatty liver disease.

He also hinted at upcoming treatments that could be effective against liver disease and reduce the need for transplants. “We still have clinical development and approvals to navigate, but if initial data continues to look good, I’m very hopeful,” he added.
