Scary videos reveal Frontier Airlines passengers escaping a smoke-filled cabin after the plane hits someone on the runway in Denver

Terrifying Incident on Frontier Airlines Flight in Denver

A shocking video has surfaced showing passengers fleeing a Frontier Airlines plane after it collided with an individual at Denver airport, as smoke filled the cabin.

Some travelers disregarded instructions to leave their belongings behind, desperate to escape the dimly lit and smoky interior following an engine fire on Friday night.

In one video, the Los Angeles-bound Airbus A321neo was racing down the runway at nearly 140 miles per hour when a sudden flash of orange light erupted, accompanied by visible sparks from the rear engine.

With panic in the air, passengers rushed to evacuate, with some yelling, “Fire up the engines, get me out!” Smoke quickly engulfed the cabin, making it hard to breathe, according to passenger Nikhil Taranki. “We were told to wait, sitting there for maybe four minutes, until they finally opened the exit,” he recounted.

A flight attendant urgently reminded passengers, “Please leave all your belongings behind. Your belongings are safe. Your life is more important.”

When approaching the inflatable slide, they were instructed to “keep low and jump.” One passenger expressed their relief, saying, “Oh my god, we almost died,” during a social media post, visibly shaken by the experience.

Some passengers could be spotted observing the damage to the plane’s engine after the explosion. “It was the most terrifying experience of my life,” Mohamed Hassan shared. “I looked to my right and saw the fire. There was a loud bang, and people started screaming. I genuinely thought I was going to die.”

New security footage released shows the moment a person was hit while crossing the runway, appearing to rush from one side to the other just as the plane’s engine came dangerously close.

The crash happened only two minutes after the individual jumped the fence. At the time, the aircraft was traveling at 139 mph. Following the collision, the pilot communicated with air traffic control, stating the aircraft was “stopped on the runway” and confirmed there was an engine fire.

After the collision, the pilot reported that “people were walking across the runway,” prompting immediate action from ground control. Despite the chaos, all 224 passengers and seven crew members managed to evacuate safely.

Denver Airport CEO Phil Washington acknowledged the incident’s severity, noting, “This is an active investigation involving numerous agencies, so it will take time to determine what information can be shared.” He added that the situation is “a terrible and preventable tragedy caused by the actions of one individual who trespassed at the airport, likely resulting in their own demise.”
