Rapper Cardi B seems to be rekindling her connection with NFL free agent Stefon Diggs after their breakup in February, indicating he’s “gradually making his way back” into her life. This, according to Us Weekly.
A source shared that “they’ve been in closer contact recently,” but it seems Cardi isn’t ready to fully commit again. “She still loves Stefon, which makes it tough for her to let him go,” the source noted.
The couple’s potential reconciliation follows a recent appearance where Diggs was spotted with his arm around Cardi at a Mother’s Day event put on by his Diggs Deep Foundation.
They welcomed a son last November.
Reports of their renewed closeness came after they were seen together at Cardi’s “Little Miss Drama Tour” performance in Washington, D.C., back in early April.
Diggs had a notable relationship with Cardi, which they officially shared on Instagram last June, but they parted ways shortly before the Seahawks’ victory over the Patriots in the Super Bowl on February 8. Cardi made an appearance at the game, even participating in Bad Bunny’s halftime show alongside Pedro Pascal and Karol G.
After just one season, Diggs was released by the Patriots in March, despite having signed a three-year, $69 million deal in the previous spring.
Things took a turn for Diggs recently when he faced legal troubles. He was found not guilty of charges including strangulation and assault related to an incident with his former personal chef, Jamila Adams, during a two-day trial in Dedham, Massachusetts.
As for any repercussions from the NFL, there’s still some uncertainty. “We are keeping an eye on all developments in this matter and our personal conduct policy is under review,” stated NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy.
