Miles Robinson recognizes his skills as a center back and is eager to contribute to the U.S. Men’s National Team during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. However, the final decision about the roster rests with head coach Mauricio Pochettino, who will be at the helm for his first World Cup with the team. Robinson has already demonstrated his abilities, having been included in last summer’s 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup lineup.
While he waits to learn his fate on May 26, Robinson remains focused on his performance with FC Cincinnati during the Major League Soccer season. “It means a lot to me,” Robinson shared, reminiscing about watching the World Cup as a child. He was filled with dreams back then, yet didn’t quite believe in the possibility of achieving them. “Now, here I am, representing my national team,” he added, referring to his partnership with Bounty.
He emphasized how significant this journey is for him. “It’s a full-circle moment,” he stated. Robinson hopes to inspire younger players by sharing his belief in oneself—something he feels can propel individuals further than they may think possible.
His confidence was put to the test when he suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon in May 2022, just weeks before the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. He had been expected to make the roster but was sidelined due to injury in a match against the Chicago Fire. It was a tough period for him, but it ultimately strengthened his resolve and character. He believes the experience has made him a better player and person, preparing him for the upcoming World Cup.
Reflecting on that challenging time, Robinson noted, “You really learn a lot about yourself during tough moments.” He felt grateful for the support from friends, family, and teammates. “It became clear that it was me versus me. I just wanted to improve for myself,” he explained, marking a pivotal point in his career.
As he eagerly awaits his chance to be named in the USMNT roster, Robinson directs his focus towards the present, including an upcoming game between FC Cincinnati and Inter Miami, the team that eliminated them from the playoffs last year. “Every match is a chance to prove ourselves,” he remarked, acknowledging the lingering thoughts about his future while remaining grounded in current goals.
Despite the anticipation of potentially representing his country in a major tournament, Robinson is taking things step by step. He expressed gratitude for the possibility, saying, “I’m just healthy and excited. I know this summer will be fantastic.”
Outside of soccer, Robinson enjoys grilling on his deck in Cincinnati. Cooking for family and friends is a passion he embraces, though it often leads to messy situations. He recently shared an experience of cleaning up a drink spill while grilling, and how Bounty came to the rescue. “It was quite a mess, but Bounty made it easy to clean up,” he noted, adding a humorous touch about often needing to help with teammates’ messes too.
