Muslim-only water park event controversy intensifies as organizer's husband goes after Sara Gonzales: 'It starts with her'

Controversial Muslim Event in Texas Sparks Outrage

When Blaze TV host Sarah Gonzalez came across a flyer promoting a Muslim water park event in Grand Prairie, Texas, she was taken aback to discover it was labeled “Muslims only.” She quickly reported her findings, leading to immediate backlash and city intervention.

In a follow-up interview with the event’s organizer, he expressed his disbelief over the criticism of a privately funded event in a public park. His husband reached out to both Governor Greg Abbott and Gonzalez about the situation.

“Now he’s attempting to rebut all of this with his own videos. They’re fascinating, but honestly, not very well made,” Gonzalez noted.

The organizer claimed frustration with the handling of the situation: “Just two days ago, Governor Abbott pressured the City of Grand Prairie to cancel the Eid events at Epic Waters. My wife and I have organized private rentals for the past two years, allowing Muslim families to celebrate Eid in a respectful space,” he shared.

He believed misconceptions about the event had been exaggerated, stating, “Islamophobes distorted our private flyer. We’ve never excluded other faiths. We even amended our language to emphasize modest dress to clarify our intentions.”

The organizer went on to accuse Governor Abbott of inciting hatred, saying, “He cares little about the truth and has made our family a target. Now we’re receiving death threats. But I’m resolute: I won’t back down.”

Additionally, he warned that he would be working to eliminate “hateful politicians.”

Gonzalez commented on the city’s stance, observing that it appeared unwilling to support what she termed “religious discrimination.” However, the organizer’s ire wasn’t solely directed at Abbott; he also addressed Gonzalez directly.

“I’m now concerned for my safety, and I think I finally get why,” he implied, showing a photo of Gonzalez and referring to her as an “extreme Islamophobe.” He claimed that Gonzalez was spreading his wife’s personal information online, resulting in threats towards their family. Despite this, he invited viewers to comment on social media if they wanted to see a more complete version of their direct message conversation, hinting that González was omitting key details.

“Someone asked me, ‘How will you take down Governor Abbott?’ It’s about addressing bigoted podcasters the government uses to stir division and hatred among the American people. We will tackle them first,” he asserted. “It starts with her,” he concluded, pointing back at Gonzalez.

As Gonzalez responded, “If the government is going to fund this, the check must have gotten lost in the mail,” she chuckled. The situation continues to unfold with many raising eyebrows at the heated exchanges.
