Noah Syndergaard criticizes Alex Cooper for 'low blow' following their difficult breakup

Noah Syndergaard Comments on Alex Cooper’s Remarks After Breakup

Former MLB pitcher Noah Syndergaard recently reflected on a “cheap attack” made by Alex Cooper, his ex-girlfriend and former podcaster, following their breakup in 2017.

During an appearance on Outkick’s “Tomi Lahren is Fearless,” Syndergaard addressed a comment he made on the 2023 podcast “Call Her Daddy,” where he joked that neither he nor Cooper could secure a “King contract.”

“I haven’t spoken to her in about eight years,” Syndergaard mentioned, noting their relationship existed during his time with the Mets. “I guess she thinks I’m still on her mind, but I’m not sure.”

He further mused, “As cheesy as it sounds, I can’t control what she says. She can have her opinions, and honestly, it doesn’t bother me. It’s somewhat amusing, but whatever.”

Lahren interjected, suggesting that Cooper has changed a lot since their relationship. Syndergaard replied with a simple “No,” indicating he didn’t want to dive deeper. “I don’t want to stir the pot any more than necessary,” he added.

He also shared that he’s currently in a relationship but prefers to keep it private. Describing himself as a “family man,” Syndergaard noted how much his lifestyle has shifted since his MLB career.

“I had a great time in New York, but I don’t think I’d ever hit a club on the weekends. Saturday and Sunday mornings are about avoiding hangovers for me. Instead, I enjoy visiting farmers’ markets and playing golf. It’s all about waking up feeling my best,” he explained.

Though Cooper has criticized Syndergaard in the past, she didn’t name him during a September 2023 episode of her podcast while talking about her MLB ex.

Syndergaard, now 33, last played with the Cleveland Guardians before being released in August 2023. He was also let go by the Chicago White Sox in August 2025 after a stint in minor leagues.

The couple initially dated in April 2017 and were spotted showing affection at a Knicks game. After some ups and downs in their relationship, Syndergaard hinted at being single in a December 2017 tweet, using the hashtag “Baseball is my love.”

In a September 2023 interview with Rolling Stone, Cooper reflected on their time together, stating, “I lived a very glamorous lifestyle because he was wealthy, and I was nobody.”

Cooper later married former Columbia quarterback and film producer Matt Kaplan in April 2024.
