Giuliani Discusses Spiritual Experience During Pneumonia Battle

Rudy Giuliani, the former mayor of New York City, shared on Wednesday that he had a “very significant spiritual experience” while recovering from a serious case of pneumonia that put him in a coma.

During the debut of “America’s Mayors Live!”, the 81-year-old recounted how his long-time friend and former aide, Peter J. Powers, appeared to him in a dream, providing what he described as an “intervention.”

“I also had a very important spiritual experience when I was just in a situation where… I liken it to a dream of being on the line, heading to heaven,” Giuliani said. However, he was careful not to assert he was definitively heading to heaven.

He emphasized, “There was a very important intervention by my Peter. I have my Peter… Peter J. Powers, my lifelong friend,” noting that Powers said some crucial words that led him to share and record the experience upon waking, with his son Andrew documenting it at his bedside in Florida.

Giuliani mentioned he intends to elaborate on this spiritual encounter later and discussed it with a priest while in the hospital.

“I don’t want to glorify it, I don’t want to deny what was there,” he explained to his audience.

Powers, who had known Giuliani since high school, held significant roles as his campaign manager and first deputy mayor before passing away in 2016 at 72, following complications from lung cancer.

Concerns about Giuliani’s health surfaced on May 3, when he was admitted in critical condition due to viral pneumonia, worsened by a respiratory illness from the aftermath of the September 11 attacks.

Friends confirmed that Giuliani was in a brief coma, but notably, he showed consistent improvement afterward.

On a separate broadcast of “The Rudy Giuliani Show” on Lindell TV, he expressed that he feels “100 percent” better after what he went through.

“I’m so happy to be back… I was away for about a week and a few days. I had pneumonia and was in the hospital. I’m not going to tell you everything right now, but I’m going to tell you everything,” he remarked.

Giuliani mentioned he is in the midst of a full recovery, even saying he worked out and felt great, although he might not be as healthy as he claims.

Giuliani also praised President Trump, calling him a “great” friend during this challenging time; he reminisced about a supportive conversation they had after his hospitalization.

According to Giuliani’s spokesperson, Ted Goodman, Trump’s team maintains regular communication to check on Giuliani’s condition.

“He was really great,” Giuliani said about Trump. “He is truly a godsend to this country.”
