Spencer Pratt Receives Special Attention at Fundraiser

Spencer Pratt enjoyed a unique experience at a recent fundraiser for a mayoral campaign. The event featured a private musical performance by acclaimed Grammy Award-winning artist David Foster and his wife, Katharine McPhee.

Footage from the event, held at the couple’s Brentwood residence, showcased Foster on piano as McPhee sang a personalized version of Tina Turner’s hit “Simply the Best.” She was quite enthusiastic, proclaiming, “He’s simply the best, better than everyone else, better than Karen Bass and Nithya Raman,” while Pratt smiled along, presumably appreciating the sentiment. “He’s going to fix this broken LA,” she added, highlighting her support.

Notable attendees included Oscar-winning producer Brian Grazer, and Jeanie Buss, a minority owner of the Los Angeles Lakers, contributed the maximum donation allowed to Pratt’s campaign, according to reports. This fundraiser signaled growing backing for Pratt from figures in the entertainment industry, despite criticisms labeling him as a polarizing choice outside the political mainstream.

His campaign increasingly leverages viral content, podcasts, meme culture, and brief social media clips, portraying Los Angeles as a city struggling with management and functionality.

Interestingly, amidst these fundraising efforts, public sentiment seems to be shifting. Recent polls indicate Mr. Bass leads with 30% support, while Pratt has climbed to 22%, surpassing Raman, who stands at 19%. Pratt, a registered Republican running as an independent, is also gaining traction in campaign fundraising efforts.

Pratt’s list of donors includes not just entertainment figures like Jeff Jenkins and Rick Salomon, but also former “Hills” co-star Doug Reinhart. Other supporters from the celebrity realm include Paris Hilton, Kristin Cavallari, and DJ Kaskade, among others. It’s a curious mix of endorsements, perhaps reflecting a unique strategy—trying to appeal to both traditional voters and a younger demographic frustrated by issues like homelessness and the cost of living.

Interestingly, there hasn’t been a response yet from either Bass or Raman’s campaigns regarding Pratt’s increasing celebrity backing and fundraising strength. Republican strategist Mike Madrid suggested that the dynamics of the race may actually benefit Bass more from Pratt’s rising popularity than from Raman, seeing it as crucial for her survival in the competition.

In his view, “I think Mr. Bass’ chances of making it to the runoff are much higher now than they were before the debate,” indicating the potential shift in voter support may indeed be in Bass’s favor.
