Charges Filed Against Livestreamer Following Courthouse Shooting
Officials have charged a livestreamer known as “Chud the Builder” with attempted murder after a shooting incident outside a courthouse in Tennessee on Wednesday.
District Attorney General Robert J. Nash from the 19th Judicial District released a statement regarding the 28-year-old streamer, whose real name is Dalton Eatherly. Nash said the confrontation took place at around 1:20 PM outside the Montgomery County Courthouse in Clarksville. According to reports, Eatherly was involved in an altercation with an “unknown male,” which escalated to gunfire. Both individuals reportedly suffered gunshot wounds.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office has indicated that Eatherly faces multiple charges, including attempted murder, using a firearm during a felony, aggravated assault, and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon.
Currently, Eatherly is being held at the Montgomery County Jail, awaiting an arraignment where his bond will be set.
Montgomery County Sheriff Fuson expressed concern about the incident, stating that such violence is unacceptable in the community.
Nash reported that the courthouse was locked down during the shooting, with law enforcement securing the area and detaining one individual.
Two people have been transported to a local hospital, and both are in stable condition, according to the sheriff’s office.
The investigation is ongoing. It’s reported that Eatherly was supposed to appear at the courthouse at 9 AM regarding a contract and debt issue.
Adding to his legal troubles, Eatherly was arrested on Sunday in Nashville after allegedly leaving a restaurant without paying a bill of $371.55. He has also been charged with disorderly conduct and theft of services.
