Iran's developing nuclear program: Correspondence

Problem:

Why is it hard to grasp the dangers of Iran obtaining a nuclear weapon? Think about what Iran has done without one. It disrupts international waterways, executes its own citizens, promotes genocide against Jews, and fosters a hostile environment towards America.

It might be smart to follow the approach that resolved conflicts in Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan: a withdrawal strategy that avoids unwinnable wars with significant human and financial costs.

After years of the Iranian regime chanting “Death to Americans,” perhaps we should shift our concerns from gas prices to the protection of our military and future generations.

With support from America and Israel, Iranians could rise against their oppressors and pursue free elections without the fear of familial retribution.

There’s not a lot of clarity surrounding President Trump’s intentions to dismantle Iran’s potential nuclear capabilities.

If he were to speak to the nation, he’d need to urge Americans to back a country actively seeking our destruction. If he were truthful about why Iran poses a direct threat, many Americans might unite in support.

Problem:

Miranda Devine referred to “suicidal empathy” when discussing women hesitant to cooperate with law enforcement for fear of imprisoning Black men.

This notion raises questions about empathy for the suicidal.

Dr. Gad Saad’s analysis of “suicidal empathy” includes many elaborate ideas, but perhaps he overlooks a vital concept: “common sense.”

Before every flight, we’re reminded to don our oxygen masks before assisting others. There’s a sound reason for that; it simply makes sense.
