If you experienced a sense of déjà vu at the end of the Houston Texans’ 2025 season, you’re certainly not alone.
Guided by C.J. Stroud, the promising team clinched a Wild Card victory in the NFL Playoffs for the third consecutive year, only to be halted once again in the Divisional Round.
In this latest matchup, Coach DeMeco Ryans’ squad lost 28-16 to the New England Patriots, who eventually became the AFC champions.
“Clearly, the last game was tough for me,” Stroud reflected about five weeks post-game, where he faced a tough outing with four interceptions. “I appreciate the struggle, not just the unseen ones but also those visible challenges.”
Let’s hope that challenge doesn’t linger for Houston as they move towards 2026.
They’ve got the seventh easiest schedule in the NFL, with their opponents’ combined winning percentage at .474, as reported by Yahoo! Sports. The team is looking to leverage this, especially since eight of their games will be played at NRG Stadium.
However, an easier schedule doesn’t guarantee smooth sailing.
Some of the more formidable opponents include games against the Buffalo Bills, led by Josh Allen (September 13), the Dallas Cowboys with Dak Prescott (October 4), the Indianapolis Colts with Daniel Jones (November 19), Lamar Jackson’s Baltimore Ravens (November 29), and the Jacksonville Jaguars led by Trevor Lawrence (December 20).
To gear up for these challenges, General Manager Nick Caserio fortified an already strong defense by acquiring standout safety Reed Blankenship, star offensive tackle Braden Smith, tenacious guard Wyatt Teller, powerful defensive tackle Logan Hall, and versatile defensive end Dominick Robinson.
Alongside these new additions, key returning players include Stroud, Will Anderson Jr. (who recently signed the largest non-quarterback contract in NFL history), Derek Stingley Jr., Daniel Hunter, and Nico Collins.
But there’s one thing still missing—you.
If you’re interested in joining the excitement and witnessing the Texans strive for the AFC South title live, tickets for all eight home games in 2026 at Houston’s NRG Stadium are available now.
