Revolut is making waves in the business banking sector by offering employees £1,000 (about $1,330) as an incentive to attract new clients to the digital bank. This news comes from a memo sent by the CEO, Nick Stronsky, to staff on May 15.
In this memo, Stronsky highlighted the company’s ambition to introduce business banking alongside its retail services in new markets by 2027. The fintech also plans to launch business credit products next year and create a dedicated division for business growth and onboarding. Stronsky expressed that many traditional banks view B2B banking as a minor concern, but for them, it’s a top priority. He noted that this strategy aims to significantly enhance their growth and reputation.
When approached for comment, Revolut declined to provide additional information. However, in a March annual report, the company revealed it had achieved record profits of $2.3 billion with sales hitting $6 billion.
“2025 marked another significant year,” Stronsky stated in the report. He added that they have built a solid, varied business that thrives at scale, forming the basis for the next stage of growth.
The report also indicated that Revolut’s business customer base surged by 33% in 2025, reaching 767,000. The business segment contributed 16% to the overall revenue, amounting to $365 billion in total turnover. Revolut’s chairman, Martin Gilbert, acknowledged that the business unit played a vital role in growth, noting a 53% revenue increase as more businesses started utilizing Revolut for managing global payments and treasury operations within a unified system.
In April, there were discussions about the company aiming for a valuation of $150 billion to $200 billion when it eventually goes public, following a funding round in November that valued them at $75 billion, up from $45 billion in 2024.
Interestingly, just a day prior to this update, Stronsky suggested that the digital bank’s initial public offering might not happen until at least 2028, putting to rest speculation that it could occur sooner.
