The Cleveland Browns appear to have a more defined plan this year compared to last. Well, maybe just a bit more defined.
After a season filled with discussions around the quarterback position, head coach Todd Monken still hasn’t disclosed whether Deshaun Watson, Shedeur Sanders, or even Dillon Gabriel will be the starter.
When asked about Sanders, who ended 2025 with a 3-4 starting record, Monken stated, “I’m not ready to say that yet,” which leaves fans in a bit of suspense.
Despite the uncertainty in the quarterback role, there’s a silver lining for the Browns. They boast the easiest schedule in the NFL for the upcoming season.
According to reports, they have the lightest strength of schedule among all 32 teams, with opponents having a combined winning percentage of just .429 over the past 25 years.
However, they won’t be facing pushovers. Key home games at Huntington Bank Field include matchups against notable teams like Bryce Young’s Carolina Panthers on September 27, TJ Watt’s Pittsburgh Steelers on October 1, Lamar Jackson’s Baltimore Ravens on October 18, and CJ Stroud’s Houston Texans on November 15. The season’s final home game will be against Daniel Jones’ Indianapolis Colts on January 3, 2027.
The franchise has also made notable signings, including Zion Johnson, Elgton Jenkins, Khalia Davis, Quincy Williams, and Jack Stoll. Plus, with a promising draft featuring offensive tackle Spencer Fano and wide receivers KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston, optimism seems warranted.
