Exciting Summer Kickoff at California’s Unique Water Park

Families in California eager to dive into summer this Memorial Day weekend should definitely consider bringing their swimsuits and a sense of adventure.

The largest floating inflatable water park in the U.S. is set to reopen in the Central Valley, boasting an array of giant slides, obstacle courses, and some thrilling new features for those seeking a way to cool down.

Splash and Dash Aqua Park will celebrate its ninth season starting Saturday, May 23, at McSwain Lake near Snelling, just in time for the holiday.

This whimsical 200,000-square-foot water playground includes towering slides, climbing walls, jump pads, and a variety of obstacle course-style activities scattered across the lake.

According to park officials, the venue is designed for “ultimate adventure, incredible acrobatic thrills, and safe yet fun athletic challenges.”

This year’s standout feature is the revamped “Big Cheebo” slide, which has a thrilling 6-foot drop followed by an adrenaline-pumping 30 feet of splashdown action.

Located at 9090 Lake McClure Road in Snelling, the park is about 40 miles northeast of Merced. As for tickets, they’re available online, but keep in mind that entry will be on a first-come, first-served basis during busy weekends.

Weekend pricing options include:

  • All Day Splash: $49.99
  • 1 Hour Splash: $39.99
  • Group All-Day Splash (10+ people): $46.99 per person
  • Group 1 Hour Splash (10+ people): $36.99 per person

For families with young children, there’s a special section called Lil Splash, which is a 5,500-square-foot obstacle course meant for kids under 7 or under 45 inches tall. Admission to that area costs $27 per child, and parents supervising kids don’t need an extra ticket.

Visiting on a weekday? You can snag a $5 discount on admission, and there’s an additional $10 off per ticket when you book online ahead of time.

If you’re looking to make a day of it, the park also offers cabana rentals, paddleboards, kayaks, and lakeside seating options.
