Tiger Woods is said to be feeling “happy” being back home with his girlfriend, Vanessa Trump, after undergoing significant painkiller treatment in Switzerland. A source shared this information with People.
The 50-year-old golfer returned to Florida on May 14, following a six-week stint in a rehab facility in Zurich after a car accident and subsequent DUI arrest on March 27.
“Tiger is really serious about his recovery and is focused on moving forward,” a source from Jupiter mentioned to the magazine.
“He feels positive and is eager to settle his legal troubles,” the source added.
“Vanessa and Tiger are happy to be together and committed,” the insider noted.
It was added that Trump is “looking forward to his progress and wants to move beyond any more public controversies, which they both find difficult.”
Outside of her relationship with Woods, Trump has faced her own set of challenges.
“Vanessa is quite busy as a mom, but that doesn’t really affect their relationship,” the source said. “Tiger has his own busy life, juggling golf, philanthropic work, and spending time with his kids.”
“They were glad to reunite but were keeping in touch while he was away,” another source noted to People. “They have their own commitments outside of their personal relationship, which plays a part in how often they meet up.” It was mentioned that they both have ex-partners with whom they share children, giving them ample time to nurture their romance.
Trump’s five children have also become “like family” to Woods, according to the first source.
She shares five kids with ex-husband Donald Trump Jr.: Kai, 19, Donald, 17, Tristan, 14, Spencer, 13, and Chloe, 11. Meanwhile, Woods has a daughter, Sam Alexis, 18, and a son, Charlie, 17, from his previous marriage to Elin Nordegren.
Woods has reportedly grown quite close to Kai, who is an “avid golfer” and around the same age as Woods’ kids, according to People.
Woods missed the Masters due to his arrest where he was found with hydrocodone tablets, but he expressed his desire to compete in Augusta. Another contact in the golf community mentioned that Woods is eager to return to the sport and is placing a strong focus on his fitness routine.
“Tiger genuinely cares about golf and will keep pursuing it. It’s part of who he is, and he has earned a lot of respect from everyone in the sport,” the source added. “He’s working hard to make a comeback, especially considering his age and injuries.”
“He refuses to give up.”
Woods has received recommendations to hire a driver, but sources say it’s “unlikely” he would do that.
After his accident, Woods addressed the situation in a social media post four days later.
“I recognize the seriousness of my current situation,” he said in a statement. “I will take some time off to focus on my health and treatment. This is essential for my recovery.”
“I’m dedicated to taking the necessary steps to return to a healthier, stronger, and more focused state, both personally and professionally. I appreciate your understanding and support and ask for privacy for my family, loved ones, and me at this time.”
