Nate Bargatze Brings Clean Comedy to the Screen in ‘The Breadwinner’
Comedian and actor Nate Bargatze recently chatted with “Fox & Friends” about his new film, “The Breadwinner,” as well as his vision for a family-friendly theme park in Nashville called Nateland, a $350 million project aimed at creating lasting memories. He also shared his thoughts on the high praise he received from fellow comedian Jerry Seinfeld.
In the interview, Bargatze noted that his upcoming project goes beyond just stand-up, expressing his desire to create a family-centered theme park inspired by his early experience at the now-closed Opryland USA theme park in Nashville.
The actor revealed that the concept for Nateland hit him during a peak period in his stand-up career, performing in arenas. Reflecting on what he wanted to accomplish next, he mentioned feeling that focusing only on arenas wasn’t enough: “I wanted to focus on places where people can take their families—destinations to make memories. I think there’s a lack of that.”
Bargatze also discussed “The Breadwinner,” saying the film aims to be a wholesome experience for families. He plays Nate Wilcox, a father who steps into the role of the primary earner for his family after scoring a major deal on “Shark Tank.” This sudden change forces him into the role of a stay-at-home dad to his three daughters.
To encourage families to enjoy the film together, Bargatze is offering discounted tickets, or “Nate Rates,” at theaters to make the experience more accessible. He emphasized the importance of attendance, saying, “We’ve talked to theaters about pricing. We want everyone to come because things can get pricey.”
