A-Listers Gather for Knicks’ Playoff Opener

Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals kicked off at Madison Square Garden, drawing a crowd of both passionate Knicks fans and a few notable celebrities.

Among those present were actor Michael J. Fox and his wife, Tracy Pollan, comedian John Leguizamo, “The Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon, and rock musician Lenny Kravitz, who was seated next to Oscar winner Dustin Hoffman.

Also in attendance were “The Sopranos” actors Michael Imperioli and Steve Schirripa, making the trip to what’s often called “the world’s most famous arena.”

The celebrity lineup continued with frequent Garden attendees like Timothy Chalamet, Ben Stiller, his wife Christine Taylor, Tracy Morgan, and director Spike Lee.

In a light-hearted twist, WWE star Danhausen made an appearance, claiming to have “broken the curse” on the Knicks after they struggled in a previous playoff round. He was seen receiving his jersey on the court, which generated buzz among fans.

As the halftime show unfolded, rapper Fabolous entertained the crowd, enhancing the electric atmosphere.

The gathering of stars highlighted a significant moment for the Knicks, aiming to reach the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999, with the last championship win dating back to 1973.

In their playoff journey, the Knicks successfully took down the 76ers, allowing star player OG Anunoby to recuperate from a hamstring injury before returning to the starting lineup.

On the other side, the Cavaliers had their fair share of drama, needing to overcome the top-seeded Pistons. Although they stumbled in Game 6, they managed to secure victory in Game 7 on the road.

It’s interesting to note that while the Knicks eliminated the Cavaliers in the first round of the 2023 playoffs, the rosters this time around look quite different.
