Residents and business owners in Los Angeles are upset regarding claims that Carly Kimmel, Jimmy Kimmel’s sister-in-law, pressured a long-standing grocery store to stop selling cookies supporting Spencer Pratt.
This accusation gained traction on social media when it was reported that Carly voiced her discontent about the Pratt-themed goodies available at Vicente Foods, a grocery store established in Brentwood 78 years ago.
Kitson, a well-known fashion boutique in LA frequented by celebrities like Paris Hilton and Angelina Jolie, stated that a “reliable source” confirmed the complaint originated from Carly.
There were also images shared online showing the cookies alongside posts from Carly’s own Instagram account.
The social media post remarked, “It seems this family’s campaign against small businesses is a trend.” It added that previous disputes regarding bakeries and free speech have resulted in Supreme Court wins for the bakeries. People were encouraged to visit Carly’s Instagram to express their feelings.
Carly is married to Jonathan, Jimmy Kimmel’s brother, who has worked on Kimmel’s show for many years.
An employee at Vicente Foods directed inquiries to the absent store manager.
Both Curley and Kitson did not respond promptly to requests for comments.
Vicente Foods, a family-run grocery that has been operational since 1948, prides itself on “the finest meats, freshest produce, and fair prices.”
Social media users reacted strongly to the accusations.
One commenter noted, “Can you believe the drama over cookies?”
Another questioned, “What’s going on with the Kimmel family?”
However, many voiced their support for the grocery store.
“I urge everyone to purchase something from the bakery to back this small business owner,” someone commented.
“I’ve been shopping at Vicente Foods for 40 years. I even bought those fantastic cookies when they released,” another added.
Meanwhile, Spencer Pratt’s campaign has gained momentum recently, as he contests against incumbent Karen Bass and Socialist Party candidate Nitya Raman, receiving endorsements from Erika Kirk and praise from President Trump.
