Nikki Bella’s Absence at WrestleMania 42

Nikki Bella missed WrestleMania 42 and couldn’t compete for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship alongside her sister Brie. Instead, she announced to the Las Vegas audience that Paige would step in for her, much to the delight of fans who were excited to see Paige return after a long hiatus. Together, she and Brie Bella claimed the title.

Before the main event on Saturday night, where Brie and Paige defend their newly won titles against Nia Jax and the Rush Legends, Nikki reminisced about her WrestleMania experiences during a recent chat with Fox News Digital.

“It was amazing,” she said. “Honestly, I couldn’t think of anyone better than Paige to take my place. We have a deep connection with her, and she feels like a sister to both Brie and me. Plus, she’s a big star with tons of talent. Sure, I was bummed about my injury, but seeing that emotional side of it was…well, it hit hard.”

Nikki expressed happiness for her sister and Paige, noting that they might even have better in-ring chemistry than she does with Brie.

“I feel like they vibe really well together,” she remarked. “They’re more of that punk-style duo. Watching them team up on TV, it just works beautifully! I’m genuinely happy for both of them.”

Meanwhile, Vera, currently the chief margarita officer at Madame Paleta Tequila, is focusing on her recovery after a serious ankle injury. She discussed her progress with Fox News Digital.

“I’m scheduled for an X-ray in mid-June,” she shared. “I’m eager to see if my bones have fully healed. Just today, I managed to do a squat for the first time, which felt amazing. Working with my trainer and physical therapist has helped me build strength. You know, this recovery is tougher than when I broke my neck, which is kind of surprising.”

“But man, I was fired up this morning! Even though I can’t lift the same weights as before, just getting back into the squat position felt fantastic. Sure, I looked a bit wobbly, but it’s a starting point. I’m really committed to getting strong for those upcoming tests in June.”

For now, Nikki will be supporting her sister and Paige as they take on their opponents during the main event in Fort Wayne, Indiana, at 8 p.m. ET on Saturday night.
