Abdul Carter of the Giants unhappy with Jaxson Dart promoting Trump: 'I thought this was AI'

Jackson Dart Surprises Teammate at Trump Rally

During a recent rally, Jackson Dart, the quarterback for the Giants, caught one of his teammates off guard when he introduced President Donald Trump.

Dart performed “Eye of the Tiger” at Rockland Community College in Suffern while promoting tax cuts enacted by Trump the previous year. As he started, the crowd erupted in chants, and Dart expressed it was an “honor” to share the stage with the President.

“Big Blue Country, it’s an honor to be here,” Dart said. “We have to start with ‘Go Big Blue.’” [chant]

In that moment, linebacker Abdul Carter seemed visibly surprised.

Carter, who was the third overall pick in the 2025 draft, even remarked on X about a video showing Dart: “I thought this was AI. What we’re doing is humans.”

Former Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes weighed in, suggesting it might not have been appropriate for Carter to publicly question Dart’s political stance.

“The locker room is a sacred place where diverse beliefs come together for a common goal,” Tynes noted. “It can be tricky to call out teammates for their political views so openly.”

Dart, at 23, is seen as the potential franchise quarterback for the Giants, a position they’ve sought to solidify since Eli Manning’s retirement in 2020.

Last season, he started 12 games, showcasing considerable energy even as the team struggled with a 4-8 record.

He threw for 2,272 yards, with 15 touchdowns and only five interceptions, completing 63.7% of his attempts. Dart also contributed with 487 rushing yards and nine touchdowns. President Trump praised him, humorously noting that Dart’s feet resembled “tree trunks.”

“I want to thank Jackson Dart, a future Hall of Famer,” Trump said. “Thank you, thank you Jackson. You have so much talent.”

Despite his slow start in the last season, Carter is regarded as a key player on the Giants’ defense under new head coach John Harbaugh, achieving 43 tackles, four sacks, and two fumble recoveries.

With the addition of a Super Bowl-winning coach, expectations are now higher for both Dart and the Giants as they look to rebuild after three consecutive losing seasons.
