Travis Kelce Tries to Lift Spirits Amid Cavaliers’ Loss
Travis Kelce attempted to uplift the spirits of the Cavaliers fans by downing a beer, but ultimately, the Knicks outlasted them, diminishing Kelce’s enthusiastic vibe.
As the fourth quarter approached during the Knicks’ 121-108 victory over the Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals on Saturday night in Cleveland, cameras at Rocket Arena caught Kelce enjoying a beer courtside, to the delight of the crowd.
After finishing his drink, he pulled back his coat to display his Cavaliers shirt and pointed his team’s cap toward the camera.
The focus then shifted to his fiancée, music icon Taylor Swift, who was seen covering her face and shaking her head while her track “…Ready for it” played in the background.
“I don’t know if his girlfriend appreciates seeing him downing beer like that,” remarked commentator Richard Jefferson on ABC’s ESPN.
Unfortunately for the Cavaliers, Kelce’s cheer didn’t translate into success, as the team allowed five quick points at the start of the fourth quarter.
With this loss, the Knicks swept the series 3-0, with Game 4 scheduled for Monday night.
Later, a picture surfaced showing Kelce with his eyes closed and his hat pulled low, appearing downcast, while Swift looked on with concern.
Earlier in the game, the Chiefs tight end had been seen seated courtside alongside Swift, and the broadcast caught them midway through the first quarter.
The couple is set to tie the knot in New York City in the coming weeks, with reports indicating the wedding is planned for July 3.
Despite speculation about Kelce potentially retiring before this season, the 36-year-old confirmed in March that he would be playing in 2026 and mentioned how Swift inspired his decision to continue.
“We both have a passion for our careers. We’ve retained that drive since childhood,” he expressed during an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” in March.
“It’s wonderful to see her continually create new music and evolve. Plus, watching her find joy in her work is really uplifting,” he added. “It motivates anyone who sees it, especially me. Being in a place where I’m figuring out my future, that kind of inspiration pushes me to realize I’m not finished yet,” Kelce said.
