Controversial Florida gubernatorial candidate James Fishback has tied the knot with an unnamed woman shortly after announcing his split from his former girlfriend, a cryptocurrency influencer, just a few months ago.
At 31, Fishback has garnered attention from younger voters, particularly those aligned with MAGA. He recently shared a photo in which a blonde woman named Valeria stands beside him at a Catholic church in Wildwood, Florida.
Interestingly, many on social media have pointed out that this hastily arranged wedding comes only weeks after his breakup with Francesca Reign.
Fishback started dating Reign, known online as “Crypto Barbie,” earlier this year, but after she joined him on Tinder to connect with young female voters, he declared himself single again in February.
Not much is known about his new wife, but Fishback did mention her first name when speaking to the Post.
“I’m on my honeymoon with my wife Valeria. I don’t have time for your AIPAC-inspired fake news,” he stated, referencing a pro-Israel lobby group.
In the upcoming Republican primary for Florida governor, Fishback is trailing significantly in the polls, with Representative Byron Donald holding a commanding lead.
The timing of Fishback’s marriage has raised eyebrows online. One user questioned, “Didn’t his girlfriend break up with him over Tinder? Is this something new?”
Another joked, “Once you book a reception venue, you have to use it or lose your deposit.”
Critics have highlighted the irony in Fishback’s previous stance against pornography, especially since his ex, Reign, participated in semi-nude modeling earlier this year.
In a previous conflict, Fishback faced allegations of harassment from his ex-fiancée Kayna Fort, who asserted that they began dating when she was 17. They lived together and got engaged when she turned 18. Fort sought a protection order against Fishback in early 2025, claiming he stalked her after their breakup.
Fishback has categorically denied any inappropriate relations with minors, asserting their romantic involvement began only after Fort turned 18. A Florida judge ultimately dismissed Fort’s request for a restraining order, clearing Fishback of wrongdoing.
Nonetheless, amidst the ongoing controversies, the Broward County School District and his former debate organization have distanced themselves from Fishback.
