Jake Worthington Takes a Break from Country Music
Country music artist Jake Worthington is stepping back from the limelight. On Friday, the 30-year-old, who gained recognition on The Voice in 2014, shared with fans on social media that he will be taking a hiatus from performing country music.
In his post, Worthington reflected, “I live a life similar to those of my heroes, and that life has captured me. I love my family, friends, and fans so much that I can’t get too wrapped up in it. I need to take some time to look at myself for my wife and daughter.” He reassured his followers, saying, “I promise I’ll come back even better. God bless country music.”
Support rallied quickly from fellow artists. Carly Pearce expressed her admiration, saying, “This is very brave. I’m so proud!” Dierks Bentley chimed in with a supportive, “La, brother!” One fan even humorously stated, “You’re a beautiful heart, brother. Your voice is eternal. Do what you have to do to maintain longevity. We will all be here when you are ready.”
Worthington isn’t the only one in the country music scene taking a step back from the hectic lifestyle. Earlier this year, Chase Rice announced his own plans for a break from touring, expressing that after 13 years of living his dream, he felt exhausted. “To be clear, this is not a farewell or anything like that,” he noted, acknowledging the toll that life on the road had taken on him.
He added, “It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to be myself on stage, and I’m really enjoying the music. I need to step away for a while to live my life and gather real experiences to write about.”
Both artists highlight a growing trend where performers prioritize their personal lives and mental health, stepping away when the pressure becomes overwhelming. It’s a reminder that even those in the spotlight need a break sometimes.
