Pro-Life Movement Faces Challenges Post-Roe
The reversal of Roe vs. Wade was expected to serve as a significant turning point for the pro-life movement. However, Seth Gruber believes it revealed the compromises many pro-life leaders have made.
On “The Steve Deace Show,” Gruber expressed his disappointment at the movement’s status, questioning how such ground could be lost after what he termed a “great victory.” He and Deace shared a sense of heartbreak regarding the current situation.
Gruber explained that many RINO Republicans, alongside certain pro-life organizations—typically funded by well-meaning Christian grandmothers—appear to work against the core goal of criminalizing abortion. “It’s frustrating,” he said, “because there’s a clear disconnect between the views of the average Christian and those in leadership roles.”
After the policy shift, Gruber hoped it would energize both Christian and pro-life organizations to push for stricter abortion laws, but unfortunately, that hasn’t happened. In fact, he noted that the current situation is even graver than before.
“In this supposed land of freedom,” he remarked, “annual infant deaths now exceed those in the decade prior to the overturn of Roe vs. Wade.” But he added a sobering note—since states aren’t mandated to disclose abortion data, the statistics available may not fully capture the reality.
Gruber pointed out that tracking actual abortion numbers has become increasingly difficult, particularly with the RU-486 abortion pill, which now accounts for over 70 percent of abortions, according to figures from Planned Parenthood. He indicated that more than 700,000 infants are lost each year, with many simply discarded.
