Spencer Pratt’s Celebrity Support in LA Mayoral Race

Spencer Pratt, a candidate for mayor of Los Angeles, is making waves by claiming that several high-profile celebrities are backing him. In a recent interview, he shared thoughts on his campaign and the unexpected support he believes he’s receiving.

Pratt, who launched his candidacy back in January, mentioned that two of his favorite celebrities, Leonardo DiCaprio and Jamie Foxx, have expressed their support for his bid. He said, “I won’t name names, but they both said, ‘Please, Mayor, we want to make these streets safe again.’ If anyone denies this, I’ve got witnesses.” He described the encounter as almost surreal.

He also indicated that these stars are concerned about the impact of California’s leadership on his career. Some celebrities, he noted, are quietly supporting his criticisms of the current administration but hesitate to go public due to potential backlash.

So far, DiCaprio has not confirmed any form of endorsement for Pratt, and Foxx’s representatives have not responded to inquiries about his support.

In earlier discussions, Pratt spoke candidly about his connections with numerous celebrities who have purportedly endorsed him personally. He recounted instances where A-list stars approached him at restaurants, engaging him in conversation to express their appreciation for his insights. “But, you know, they understand the risk of going public with their support,” he added, conveying that many are cautious due to the potential fallout on their careers.

His campaign has made considerable strides lately, especially with significant donations, including one from Jeanie Buss, owner of the Lakers. Additionally, stars like Katharine McPhee and David Foster have also voiced support for him. Pratt has focused on critical issues like homelessness and public safety, positioning himself against the city’s current leadership. “I think there’s a lot of frustration out there,” he noted, reflecting on the dissatisfaction among voters.

Kicking off further support, Kristin Cavallari remarked on a recent broadcast, “I think Spencer is a genius for running for mayor,” suggesting that many in politics seem indifferent to party lines. Meanwhile, Paris Hilton also showed her backing, simply writing, “Spencer for Mayor,” on social media.

During his campaign, Pratt showcased a personal aspect of his life by posting a video from his Airstream trailer, which is currently parked at a site damaged by recent fires. This might resonate with voters feeling the impact of issues he’s campaigning for.

While some celebrities have backed Pratt, others like Chelsea Handler and Drew Carey have criticized him. Lauren Conrad, a former co-star of Pratt’s, declined to comment on whether she would vote for him, noting she doesn’t reside in Los Angeles. “I mean, I’m not even a voter here,” she stated.

As Pratt continues to navigate the political landscape, he seems acutely aware of the controversies swirling around him. “Look, if I don’t get elected because of my past with LC,” he said with a hint of resignation, “I guess that’s just how it goes.” He emphasized the real issues at stake, expressing concern for the homeless situation and the overall safety in LA.

Reflecting on his unexpected journey into politics, Pratt mentioned that he never envisioned running for mayor. “I didn’t see this coming,” he admitted, “but interacting with people and feeling their energy has been a huge motivator.” It’s a curious mix of celebrity culture and genuine civic duty that seems to define his campaign.
