Trump to Kick Off the Great American State Fair
In light of several musical artists canceling their performances at the Great American State Fair, President Donald Trump is set to inaugurate the event.
On Saturday, Danielle Alvarez, a spokesperson for Freedom 250, the event’s organizer, posted on social media that Trump will open the fair during its ceremony on Wednesday, June 24th.
“As the visionary behind the Great American State Fair, we are thrilled to announce that President Trump will personally kick off this historic celebration on Wednesday, June 24, marking America’s 250th birthday,” Alvarez stated.
This announcement follows the withdrawals of various artists, who cited reasons like political divides and safety concerns.
Trump also shared on Truth Social that he was considering holding an “America is Back” rally at the fair, boasting about his ability to draw larger crowds than Elvis Presley.
“I understand artists are getting ‘the yips’ regarding their performance on Wednesday, so I’m thinking about bringing the Number One Attraction anywhere in the World—noted for gathering more audience than Elvis Presley. Some even call me the Greatest President in History (THE GOAT!), DONALD J. TRUMP, to take the place of these highly paid, third-rate ‘Artists’ and give a major speech, rallying the Country forward as I’ve done since being President,” he expressed.
“I don’t want so-called ‘Artists’ getting paid too much who are unhappy. So, by this TRUTH, I am ordering my Representatives to explore the feasibility of an AMERICA IS BACK Rally on Wednesday, Washington, D.C., same time, same place,” he added.
In another post, he further advocated for the rally.
“We should have a giant MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN RALLY for 250 instead of overpriced singers, who nobody wants to hear, whose music is dull, and who only complain. Cancel it,” he stated.
Referencing Trump’s proposition, the White House expressed support, commenting, “AMERICA IS BACK Rally!”
The Great American State Fair is scheduled to run from June 25th to July 10th at the National Mall in Washington, D.C., according to the Freedom 250 event’s website.
“The Great American State Fair is a World’s Fair celebrating the people, traditions, innovations, and spirit that makes America the greatest nation on Earth,” said spokesperson Alvarez.
“The Fair will unite all states and territories to showcase the very best of America through state exhibits, industry displays, family-friendly attractions, movie screenings, musical performances, military ensembles, stunning flyovers, and a classic Ferris wheel on the National Mall,” she continued.
Though some artists have backed out of the festivities, others, like rapper Vanilla Ice, are still scheduled to perform, declaring he’s “here to party with America.”
