Mookie Betts embraces his Hollywood side with roles in Marvel and Toy Story

Mookie Betts, a prominent figure in baseball, has recently expanded his profile by joining two major Disney franchises. The Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop is set to feature in both the Marvel universe and the beloved Toy Story series in the near future.

Fans can look forward to seeing a different side of Betts in these roles. He will make his Marvel debut in the upcoming season of “Marvel’s Iron Man and His Awesome Friends,” lending his voice to the character Dizzy Doubleday. Disney characterizes Dizzy as a baseball player eager to assist young players, which seems quite fitting for someone like Betts, who’s a notable name in the sport.

This animated series follows characters like Tony Stark, Lili Williams, and Amadeus Cho as they tackle epic challenges while wearing the Iron Suit to safeguard their city. Betts will share the screen with Jessica Mendoza, a former softball star and baseball analyst, who voices Dizzy’s sister, Dottie Doubleday.

However, Marvel isn’t the sole Disney project bringing Betts on board this summer. He recently featured in a promotional ad for “Toy Story 5,” alongside his daughter Kinley.

In the commercial, Betts tries to engage Kinley, who is focused on the Lilypad tablet, a key element in the upcoming film. Eventually, as Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jesse, and Slinky collaborate, Kinley comes off the dugout to join her father on the field.

This advertisement offers a sneak peek at “Toy Story 5,” which hits theaters on July 19th, centering on the toys facing off against a challenging opponent: modern technology.

For Betts, this Disney involvement comes amid a hectic baseball season. In 2026, he has dealt with injuries and some health concerns, but he’s now taking the spotlight in two of the entertainment giant’s major series simultaneously.

Not too shabby for someone who’s already secured a World Series title and an MVP award.
