Trump enhances Freedom 250 Festival with significant National Mall 'super rally'

Trump’s National Rally to Kick Off Freedom 250 Celebrations

President Donald Trump is transforming the opening ceremonies for the Freedom 250 into a major national rally, set for June 24th on the National Mall. After a change in the entertainment lineup, Trump will personally headline the event, aiming to create a significant, fan-centric gathering featuring the U.S. Marine Band and top military choruses.

“In celebration of our Country’s 250 Year History, we will be bringing you, LIVE, the Greatest Rally, EVER! It will be special at every level — A Rally to end all Rallies!” Trump shared on Truth Social.

The revamped event will include performances from the U.S. Army Band, the Armed Forces Choir, the U.S. Marine Band, and the Joint Armed Forces Chorus.

Notable soloists are set to perform, including country legend Lee Greenwood—known for “God Bless the U.S.A.” and a frequent feature at Trump events—and opera singer Christopher Macchio.

Trump has commended Macchio’s remarkable talent, stating, “Not since the legendary Luciano Pavarotti has there been such a voice!”

Both Greenwood and Macchio have previously captivated audiences at major Trump rallies and the recent Republican National Conventions, as well as at Trump’s 2025 inauguration.

Greenwood expressed his excitement for the event, labeling it “a tremendous honor.” He has long supported the administration and even collaborated with Trump on the “God Bless the USA Bible” project in 2024.

This pivot to a political rally follows the withdrawal of several high-profile acts, including Young MC, Martina McBride, and others shortly after the Freedom 250 event was announced.
