Odell Beckham Jr. Returns to New York
Odell Beckham Jr. is quickly making his mark again in New York. Just a few days after rejoining the Giants, he treated the entire wide receiver group to dinner at 4 Charles Prime Rib Steakhouse in New York City.
A TikTok video shared by Giants receiver Calvin Austin III captured the moment, showcasing the team’s camaraderie, captioned with “Wideout dinner vibe.”
Beckham Jr., now 33, signed with the Giants on Monday, marking his return to the team after a year away. This reconnecting feels particularly significant for the Giants, as Beckham gained stardom while playing for them from 2014 to 2018, including that iconic one-handed catch when he was a rookie.
Though injuries hindered him during the latter part of his Giants career, he still managed to notch four seasons with over 1,000 receiving yards while with Big Blue—his personal best being 1,450 yards in 2015.
His synergy with quarterback Eli Manning, a two-time Super Bowl champion, made Beckham a considerable asset on the field. Their collaboration helped the Giants achieve an 11-5 record and a playoff appearance in 2016, the first since 2011. However, shortly before Manning’s retirement, Beckham was traded to the Browns in a deal that brought Jabrill Peppers and a draft pick, contributing to the acquisition of talented Dexter Lawrence.
Since leaving Cleveland in 2021, Beckham’s journey has taken him to the Rams, where he won a Super Bowl in 2022, before brief stints with the Ravens and Dolphins. It’s worth noting that he hasn’t reached more than 600 yards in a season since 2019, but there’s hope. The Giants are optimistic about integrating him with their promising second-year quarterback, Jackson Dart, who showed flashes of potential in his rookie season.
Beckham will be joining a wide receiver lineup that boasts first-round pick Malik Nabors from 2024, alongside Darius Slayton, Darnell Mooney—who is currently recovering from an injury—and JuJu Smith-Schuster, also freshly signed. The Giants are aiming to bounce back from last season’s disappointing 4-13 record, kicking off their new season at home against the Cowboys on September 13th.
