Maxx Crosby Committed to the Raiders After Trade Rumors
Maxx Crosby, who was almost traded to the Ravens earlier this offseason, expressed his desire to put trade discussions behind him and concentrate on his role with the Raiders.
After finishing an OTA session, Crosby spoke to the media, saying, “Ultimately, I’m exactly where I want to be.”
“I’m fired up,” he added. “Everyone knows my love and gratitude for this organization, and that will never change.”
Before a significant trade between the Rams and the Browns that sent Myles Garrett to Los Angeles, Crosby was in the spotlight as a potential trade candidate. His situation with the Raiders had hit a challenging point; he had been placed on injured reserve due to knee surgery with just two games left in the season.
The day after, it seemed like his relationship with the team might be over as he left the Raiders facility. Things appeared bleak.
Crosby was initially traded to the Ravens in March, but the deal fell through after he failed a physical examination.
Following that, Crosby took to social media to express, “Everything happens for a reason” and affirmed his commitment to the Raiders, stating he was ready to repair his relationship with the team.
“I’m excited just to be here with this group,” Crosby said, noting the strong leadership of new head coach Clint Kubiak. “The coaching staff is very detailed and attentive in everything they do.”
Now back with the Raiders, it seems likely that the team will retain the talented edge rusher, who made quite an impact last season with 10 sacks and 73 tackles in 15 games.
