"You're either dishonest or foolish": Trump attacks Kristen Welker and damages the 'Meet the Press' microphone

Trump’s Interview Highlights Concerns and Allegations

In a recent interview with Kristen Welker from NBC News on “Meet the Press,” President Donald Trump discussed a range of subjects, from the war in Iran to the economic climate and Federal Reserve interest rates, all while standing in a barn in Wisconsin. The conversation unfolded with various interruptions and tensions, particularly as the interview progressed.

About 40 minutes in, it was evident that the back-and-forth was testing Trump’s patience. He remarked, “You know these elections are fraudulent,” as he went on to defend his proposed “anti-weaponization fund,” which aims to provide reparations for victims of what he describes as government misuse of power, particularly referencing perceived harms from the Biden administration and its allies.

Despite some rocky interactions with political figures like Vice President J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Welker seemed to stick to her strategy, pushing back against Trump’s claims regarding the January 6 protests. She insisted there is no evidence to support his assertions surrounding FBI involvement and the notion of “dirty cops” being at the Capitol during those events.

While attempting to move the conversation onward, Welker did not shake Trump’s insistence about the evidence he believed exists. The president stated, “There’s a lot of evidence,” only for Welker to counter by noting that it hadn’t been brought forward in court.

As the discussion turned confrontational, Trump reiterated his belief that the election was stolen, raising concerns about potential fraud in California’s electoral process. He remarked, “They’re crooked, just like you’re crooked,” which pushed Welker to defend her position, saying, “I’m not crooked,” before trying to steer the conversation back to other points.

However, Trump maintained his stance, challenging the credibility of news outlets and their portrayal of his presidency. He expressed frustrations over the media’s bias, asserting that it was skewed against him and that the electoral process in the country is akin to those in “third world countries.” Ultimately, he ended the encounter on a dismissive note, telling Welker to “Cure the press” before leaving her behind.
