Siren’s Curse Roller Coaster Faces Technical Issues

North America’s tallest, fastest, and longest tilting roller coaster, Siren’s Curse, had some hiccups this weekend, getting stuck in a vertical position on two occasions, which left riders in a bit of a predicament.

Located at Six Flags Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, the ride experienced technical delays on both Saturday and Sunday. It was reported that the coaster encountered a similar issue, causing interruptions in its operation.

A spokesperson for the park stated, “On both days, the coaster had a technical delay, similar to a check engine light, pausing operations temporarily.” They reassured that the safety systems worked as intended, ensuring the safety of all guests during this interruption. After thorough checks were completed, the ride resumed its normal functions, allowing guests to continue enjoying their time.

The park emphasized that the automated safety system had simply detected conditions that warranted an inspection before proceeding.

Interestingly, Siren’s Curse is marketed as a record-breaking attraction, managing to tilt riders at a 90-degree angle and holding them upright as the track locks into place just before the initial drop.

While it opened in June 2025, some news outlets have mentioned that a similar incident happened on its very first day, leaving riders suspended for approximately ten minutes. What a way to kick off a thrilling ride, right?
