Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant found some humor in the struggles of New York Knicks fans, many of whom placed the blame for their Game 3 loss on President Donald Trump.
The San Antonio Spurs edged out the Knicks 115-111 in a lively game at Madison Square Garden, a game attended by Trump. The Knicks struggled with 13 turnovers and shot 45 percent from the field, while the Spurs were slightly better, making 46 percent of their shots and only committing eight turnovers.
Despite the circumstances, some Knicks fans pointed fingers at Trump without mentioning that New York City Mayor Zoran Mamdani was also present. “That’s why Knicks fans hate President Trump!” Bryant expressed on X.
The crowd’s response to Trump was notable, contrasting sharply with how he was received during the College Football National Championship earlier in the year.
In light of some accusations of him being a Trump supporter, Bryant didn’t hold back his response. “Whatever your personal issues with Trump… IDGAF! If hitting him in the face with concrete makes you feel better, go for it!” he tweeted.
Meanwhile, Knicks head coach Mike Brown voiced his concerns about the foul differential, pointing out that the Spurs took 32 free throw attempts compared to just 22 for the Knicks. “First of all, I want to make something clear. Coach Mitch Johnson and the Spurs won tonight; they dominated,” he said.
Brown also expressed his surprise at the discrepancy in free throw attempts, admitting he didn’t expect to see one team with that kind of advantage in the NBA Finals.
