Nick Reiner Seeks Parents' Trust Fund During Awaiting Murder Trial

Petition from Nick Reiner Over Trust Fund Amid Murder Charges

Nick Reiner has reportedly filed a petition seeking access to a trust fund set up by his parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, while he waits for his trial regarding their murders.

According to court documents, Nick claims that he was supposed to receive his share of the trust fund when he turned 30. He alleges that he tried to hire attorney Alan Jackson to assist in his defense but couldn’t get the trustee to release funds for this purpose, which prompted Jackson to withdraw from the case. Nick also stated that his siblings, Jake and Romy, had agreed to help him find Jackson.

He faces two counts of first-degree murder for the alleged deaths of his parents in their Los Angeles home on December 14, 2025.

In 1992, Rob and Michele Reiner established trust funds for each of their three children. Nick’s court documents emphasize the urgency of his request, stating that he has no other financial means to cover the legal fees while incarcerated.

He expressed frustration in court over the delays in accessing the trust, noting that this inaction could jeopardize his defense. He is seeking both damages and an accounting from the trustee.

TMZ had previously stated that his siblings, Romy and Jake, do not plan to hire a private attorney for him.

During a preliminary hearing on April 29, Nick entered a plea of not guilty, and it became known that the autopsies of Rob and Michele had not been completed even four months after their deaths.

The judge has postponed the next hearing until September to allow for the presentation of necessary evidence.

The Los Angeles Medical Examiner determined that both Rob and Michele died from homicide due to “multiple sharp force injuries.”

Rob Reiner was well-known in the entertainment sector as a prominent filmmaker.
