Ohio student remains paralyzed after a Snapchated gathering turns into a robbery.

An 18-year-old high school student from Ohio, who was pregnant, was shot and left paralyzed during what appears to be a robbery while attempting to meet someone she met on Snapchat.

According to her mother, Angell was around six months pregnant when the incident occurred in Toledo, Ohio, on Saturday. Reports indicate that she was injured during an encounter that ultimately led to a premature birth.

As per a police report, Angell and her boyfriend drove to a house on Greenway Avenue, close to the University of Toledo, for the meeting.

Upon their arrival, a man dressed in black approached their car, aimed a gun at the boyfriend’s head, and demanded money, authorities have reported.

During the confrontation, the boyfriend attempted to seize the gun from the assailant.

In the ensuing struggle, the gun discharged, striking Angell while she sat in the car.

“When the man pulled the trigger, the bullet hit my daughter’s left arm and went through her side. Thankfully, it missed the baby, which was directly above her,” her mother stated.

Despite the bullet narrowly avoiding the fetus, Angell sustained a fractured vertebra, resulting in paralysis just months before her expected due date.

“She fractured her spine at the 12th vertebra and is now paralyzed,” her mother added, highlighting the difficulties that lie ahead as Angell prepares for motherhood.

Currently, at 26 weeks pregnant, Angell is hospitalized under observation by doctors for both her and her unborn baby.

Her family is struggling with the painful reality that the young woman may not fully recover and could face significant challenges in caring for her child.

“It’s the worst feeling in the world to see your child suffering and feel helpless,” her mother expressed.

No arrests have been made so far, and the investigation is still active.

Meanwhile, Angell’s family has set up a GoFundMe page to help with escalating medical expenses and assist the expectant mother during this difficult time.
