Midland, Texas Shooting Incident
At least one individual has died and nearly a dozen others sustained injuries following a shooting in Midland, Texas, as reported by Mayor Lori Bron.
According to Police Chief Greg Snow, officers responded early Friday morning to reports of gunfire from a building located on West Wall Street. He mentioned that armored units were deployed, and law enforcement confronted the suspect.
“Currently, we have 11 known victims,” Mayor Bron said during a press briefing. “At least one of those victims died at the scene.”
Information from Midland Memorial Hospital indicates that nine victims were admitted, with five reported in stable condition and four undergoing surgical procedures.
Mayor Bron added that various law enforcement agencies, including SWAT, reacted to the situation and managed to contain the suspect.
The City of Midland shared updates on social media, asking residents to avoid the vicinity as public safety measures were being implemented.
The city confirmed via social media that the shooting incident has been resolved and that the suspect is deceased.
They also noted that the scene remains active, implying that road closures in the area might persist while the investigation continues.
