Duchess Catherine’s Powder Blue Ensemble at Trooping the Color
The Princess of Wales, Duchess Catherine, showcased a lovely powder blue outfit during the Trooping the Color event on Saturday.
She paired her Catherine Walker creation with a matching hat designed by Philip Treacy, an Irish Guards brooch, and pearl floral earrings from Cassandra Gordo. Interestingly, she had worn these earrings at the new Archbishop of Canterbury’s installation earlier this year, and they first made an appearance at her son Prince Louis’ christening in 2018.
To complete her look, she opted for white heels while taking part in the royal procession marking the monarch’s birthday at Buckingham Palace.
Accompanying her during the carriage ride were her children: Prince George, who is 12, Princess Charlotte at 11, and the 8-year-old Prince Louis. The boys looked quite dapper in suits with matching baby blue ties, while Charlotte wowed in a white outfit adorned with a bow in her hair, accented by blue details.
King Charles and Queen Camilla also participated, riding in a carriage dressed in striking red ceremonial outfits. Charles sported a decorated military uniform, while Camilla wore a red coat dress and topped off her look with a feathered naval hat.
Prince William, along with Prince Edward and Princess Anne, rode behind the King in the traditional horse-drawn carriage during the royal procession through central London.
At 44, Middleton has been gradually returning to her royal duties after taking a year to recover from cancer. Earlier this year, she made her first overseas trip since her diagnosis, visiting Italy alone, and her husband expressed that he felt “incredibly proud” of her. Just this month, she attended a cancer research event wearing a heart-print Rodarte dress, going alongside her mother who was celebrating the completion of her own cancer treatment.
Last year, shortly after announcing her diagnosis, Middleton made a notable return for Trooping the Color, selecting a white dress by Jenny Packham with black accents. In 2025, she twinned with Princess Charlotte, donning an aquamarine coat dress by Catherine Walker, while Charlotte wore a soft dress with a white sash.
Traditionally, Middleton has favored Alexander McQueen for annual occasions. In 2011, following the Royal Wedding, she made a memorable debut in a stunning white gown by the designer.
